The Long Binh Film Festival

For five years, I collaborated with Doug Bradley, Paul Heideman, Wyl Schuth and Anthony Black on an annual film festival screened in connection with our class on “The Vietnam Era: Music, Media and Mayhem.”  Altogether, we cycled through about 20 films, including the unspeakably horrendous “Green Berets.”  Some of my vet friends dislike “Apocalypse Now” (which you can find on my personal favorite shelf) and “The Deer Hunter” as much as I dislike “Coming Home,” but they’re all part of the conversation, so you’ll find them here.
