Jazz

Louis Armstrong once defined jazz as “music that’s never played the same way once.” I’ve always loved experimentation and improvisation; it took me a while to realize that jazz had shaped my thoughts on everything from teaching to raising daughters; whatever you think you know isn’t likely to work next time, so be ready. And don’t be afraid to fail. If you like this crate, follow up with “Sixties Jazz.”   If you’re new to jazz, run down a copy of Len Lyons’ The 101 Best Jazz Albums, which does a great job letting you know what’s going on.
